Your Board has agreed that the time is right to start working towards appointing an Athletes’ Council, a body which will have responsibility for representing the views of boccia athletes on how the sport can be developed, and for acting as the liaison between athletes and the day-to-day decision makers in BISFed.

The gap between the BISFed 2018 Sao Paulo Boccia Regional Open and the BISFed 2018 Povoa Boccia World Open is the longest that boccia enthusiasts will encounter now the season is underway. The 34 day build up will see athletes have their final chance to perform on a world stage ahead of the World Championships in Liverpool in August.
The second boccia competition in the Americas region will begin Sunday (20 May) in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The state-of-the-art Brazilian Paralympic Training Centre will host the BISFed Sao Paulo Boccia Regional Open. It follows on from April’s Montreal Open held in Canada.
The athletes are going through their final preparations ahead of the Regional Open in Sao Paulo next week. Teams will start to arrive in Brazil on Sunday for the second event of the year to be held in the Americas.
