2017 BISFed General Assembly

General Assembly documents have been distributed to all of our members. The meeting will be held in Hong Kong on 29th May 2017. We have scheduled the meeting in the hope that many of our members will also be able to attend the final day(s) of competition at the 2017 Asia and Oceania Regional Championships, also in Hong Kong.

Entries Open!!!

139 entries were received for the BISFed 2015 World Open, Santiago de Cali, far exceeding the limit established by BISFed and the host. The BISFed Competition Committee had to work hard to find a balanced solution that combined the highest possible number of competitors in a competition schedule of 4 days using 9 courts whilst still applying the entry criteria:

BlazeSports America is pleased to announce USA Boccia as the non-profit organization that will now serve as both the High Performance Management Organization for the sport of boccia in the US and the US Member of the Boccia International Sport Federation.

Competition Committee Update

Please find attached the note from the BISFed Competition Committee with regards to the updated Competition System. The committee will be communicating with all members shortly to see how the system can be adapted and improved for the forthcoming quadrennial. A short survey will be devised to ensure our research can be conducted in a measured and controlled way to enable us to clearly identify the improvements that need to be made.

Making Boccia Accessible

Fifteen delegates from seven countries attended the launch of BISFed’s ‘Making Boccia Accessible’ project in Johannesburg, South Africa on 28th March.

The project’s aim is to bring boccia to parts of the world where it is not yet played or is under-represented, and has been sponsored by the IPC’s Agitos Foundation, UK Sport and Hogan Lovells.

Following the success of the 2014 Boccia World Championships in Beijing, BISFed held its first General Assembly meeting on Sunday 28th September, also in Beijing. 30 of BISFed’s 51 Member nations attended the General Assembly.

2014 BISFed General Assembly

Information has been sent to all federations detailing the requirements for the first BISFed General Assembly. The General Assembly registration process will be managed by the Sport:80 Sports Management System and all federations will be able to log in and complete their registration and pay for the event online. Keep an eye on inboxes as a username and password will be sent directly to the primary email address in our records. General Assembly documents can be downloaded below along with all job descriptions for the elected positions.
