The response from federations wanting to participate in the first Boccia World Open of 2015 has been exceptional. The event, due to be held in Poznan from the 17th-22nd June received entry forms from 29 federations by the entry deadline.

CALLING ALL MEMBERS!!!

We are asking all of our members to give us information about referees, classifiers and officials ahead of our busy 2015 competition schedule.

Our Referees Committee is working with our event hosts to allocate referees for our competitions. Members in Europe have been asked to email their nominations to the head of the committee Helana Bastos before the 28th January. Anyone who is having problems, or who hasn’t received the email from Helana should contact admin@bisfed.com immediately for help.

Separate to this we are gathering information on all our members as we aim to develop a full database of athletes, officials, coaches, referees and classifiers. We ask all our members to cooperate and help us achieve this as we continue to professionalise boccia.

 

 

Announcing the BISFed Standard Boccia Ball

As part of BISFed’s ‘Making Boccia Accessible’ project, we have entered into an agreement with Handi Life Sports to manufacture and supply sets of ‘BISFed Standard Boccia Balls.’ These high quality boccia balls represent excellent value for money and will be available exclusively to BISFed Members. Each set contains six red, six blue and one white jack ball, all branded with the BISFed logo and contained in a strong canvas bag.

Rio 2016 Mascots Unveiled

The mascots for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games have been unveiled this week.The mascots, yet to be named, were joined by mascots from previous games as they were unveiled. Fans can help chose their names by voting online at www.rio2016.com/mascots. The choices are Oba and Eba, Tiba Turque and Esquindim or Vinicius and Tom with the winning names set to be announced on the 14th December.
